    Item Description
    Condition : NEW
Introduced in 1990, the '57 Classic delivers a warm, full tone and balanced response that recreates the crunch of a classic Gibson PAF humbucker. It is built to the same specifications as the original PAF, including an Alnico II magnet, nickel-plated polepiece, nickel slug polepiece, maple spacers, and vintage-style two-conductor wiring.
Gibson's famous PAF: Patent Pending Intent humbuckers were initially wound on machines that were not uniformly accurate in terms of windings and tension during the first few years of production. As a result, pickups were made with a rich individuality, with each individual pickup having a slightly different output and tone. These humbuckers were very attractive to players who wanted to explore 100% of their tonal possibilities. 57 Classic vintage-style humbuckers are the result of Gibson's attempt to capture and reproduce this famous characteristic. 57 Classic pickups are Wax spotting (wax impregnation treatment) to eliminate unwanted pickup internal space and potential for microphonic feedback.
